The Lord's Passion
I have always had a hard time with using the word Passion for the trial and punishment that Jesus received before his death. Merriam-Webster dictionary defines “passion” in the following ways:
1: a strong feeling or emotion,
2: an object of someone's love, liking, or desire,
3: strong liking or desire: love.
These are all words of love and kindness. These words are not reflected in what Jesus went through on that day. Why would anyone love to be deceived, betrayed, denied, spit on, scourged, crowned with thorns, mocked unmercifully, and finally hung on a tree?

We will pray the
Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel
after every mass.
Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Help with Snow Removal Costs
As our thoughts turn to Spring, St. David’s still has memories of the February snow storms. We experienced $7,950 in snow removal expense, church roofing damage in excess of $8,000 and $8,540 in damage to the stone walls surrounding Convent. Although we budget some snow removal expense each year, this year’s storm after storm certainly created unanticipated extra costs. We hope parishioners can help us out by putting a little extra in their Sunday Collections to help defray these expenses. Thank you for helping out St. David Parish covering these unusual expenses.

. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for Adoration at 2 PM and we will pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet. We will close with Benediction at 3 PM. We invite all our parishioners to join us in prayer for the Divine Mercy of Our Lord.

The Green Phase
As of June 26, 2020, the five-county area of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia moved into the green phase of the reopening of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The green phase continues to require precautions to limit the spread of COVID-19 and our corporate responsibility to observe them.
The liturgical directives that follow are for the Pennsylvania green phase and our Archdiocesan Open Phase for the celebration of the Sacred Liturgy. They were authorized by the Archbishop to go into effect on Friday morning, June 26, 2020.

We can be certain that there will be challenges as we reunite and celebrate Mass together. I ask that we be patient with one another, we all desire one thing – to celebrate the Eucharist together in our church! It will take some adjusting and some refining of details, but let us keep our focus on the Lord, who calls us to gather as His people.

I eagerly await the day we gather together in our church. In the meantime, let us continue to pray for one another.
God Bless You,
