Answers to Frequently asked questions about Forty Hours Devotion
The Holy Eucharist is place in an ornamental vessel called a monstrance and left on the altar for public adoration and worship during the forty hours.
You may visit for any length of time that fits into your schedule. We do ask those who are available to sign up for a specific hour because Jesus is never to be left alone.
During your visit, you may talk to Jesus, listen, pray the rosary or chaplet, read a spiritual book, or just enjoy the quiet, away from the distractions of life, and be in the presence of Our Lord.
During the 40 hours there will be specific times to join with others. Father Patrick Welsh is our guest speaker who will engage us in prayerful consideration of Eucharistic adoration. We will also gather as a community to pray the Rosary, to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet, pray the Seven Sorrows Rosary, listen to meditation Hymns led by our choir, and have an opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Sign Ups!
Sign up boards have been placed at the entrances of the Church! We ask that you sign up so that we know someone will be present with Jesus each hour. Please feel free to drop by anytime during the Forty Hours.
You can also use the buttons below to sign up online.
For the online sign ups we have not included the hours in which we will be having events, such as the rosary or Fr. Welsh's reflections, as adorers will already be present.
